On 27th June 2024, our Senior Operations Manager, Ms. Grace Zambi, represented TASHED at a crucial Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) meeting held in Bagamoyo municipal council. Ms. Grace Zambi used this platform to present the progress of the #EmpowerHER initiative, highlighting key achievements, ongoing challenges, and urgent needs within the district. She also shared the comprehensive progress report, detailing the impact and progress of EmpowerHER in empowering Community Microfinance Groups (CMGs) with essential financial management skills and knowledge.
Speaking during the meeting, Mr. Shauri Salenda, the Bagamoyo District Executive Director (DED), expressed his appreciation for the efforts and contributions of the CSOs in the region. He outlined the district’s top priorities; (i) emphasizing cleaner energy (ii) fighting gender-based violence and child abuse, and (iii) extreme poverty alleviation. Additionally, the district Community Development Officer (CDO) stressed the importance of CSOs submitting quarterly reports for both projects and financials to ensure transparency and accountability.
The meeting saw participation from over 20 CSOs, providing a valuable opportunity for networking, sharing experiences, and learning from the initiatives of other organizations dedicated to community development. This engagement not only underscored TASHED’s commitment to enhancing socio-economic conditions in Bagamoyo but also fostered collaboration and collective efforts towards sustainable development in the district.
